![]() In general, it is very sweet sounding and free blowing. However, I think it makes it sound a little more modern as it's less resistant and reminds me a bit more of a Selmer than the silver-plated ones. This gives it a bit less punch to the sound (compared to the silver one I have). Some time ago the original silver was taken off and replaced with traditional lacquer. I fixed a few small pad leaks and it's now playing great. As a result, the pads are in excellent shape, but the horn hasn't been played for a while. The horn had an overhaul not too long ago but then sat in the case for a few years. This Buescher True Tone alto would be the perfect horn for someone looking for a fantastic horn that doesn't break the bank.
